School Council

At Heron Primary School our school council is elected by our pupils following  the principles of the British Value of Democracy.

The Chairperson, secretary and treasurer of the council are elected by the whole school following a period of canvassing and presenting thir manifestos.

The class council representatives are voted to their position after a further round of elections.

The school council have been intrumental in ensuring that all pupils ‘have a voice’ and are able to share their views on specific aspects of school development.

In the past, the council has helped support development of the school lunch menu, outdoor play resources and supporting recent school accolades such as the Mental Health Champions award.
